Re: Guide for Jrock Concerts?
It's only at that one venue though, but we do get some really awesome bands occasionally. New Found Glory shot all the photos for their latest album at a show there last year. It was sick.
Dethklok was amazing. Brandon transitions between the different voices so easily it's kinda really awesome. The videos playing in between the songs were hysterical.
Plus, I managed to pass out like 750 of the 1000 or so flyer I had. I felt mad productive

Re: Guide for Jrock Concerts?
yeah, but most bigger bands don't come near Long Island unless they play at Nassau Coliseum or Jones Beach. Every thing else usually requires a trip into the city, which is time consuming and costly. Aside from local bands that is. Like the Twisted Sister side project called Bent Brother played there last year (it's TS sans make-up).

as a side note: DEG 1 week from tomorrow

i'm quite excited, it'll make it my 4/5 times I had tickets that I actually saw them. Really jealous of my friends thought because they are going all 3 nights. Unfortunately I have school on weds and I bought tickets for AFI on friday before DEG announced their tour

Re: Guide for Jrock Concerts?
Dir en grey was epic as usual. I am pretty pissed at my friends because they had said they would hold me a spot in line so I could get on the barricade with them but then told me they couldn't when I got there yesterday afternoon. None of my pictures turned out good because I had to sit in the back with my friend who was nauseous all day while my friends were right up front right where I had wanted to stand (in front of Toshiya). Rather frustrated about the whole situation. But got my copy of Average Blasphemy signed by Die and Shinya.
Oh and it was quite entertaining because right after I got to the venue, someone realized there was a big hunk of metal hanging off the side of the building about to fall on the people in line outside the tour bus. They called the cops who cordoned off the area around the bus and hung their caution tape from the bus while the band was stuck inside it not knowing what was going on. Eventually the cops cut the thing down but it was a good source of entertainment for like an hour or so.
