Re: The Gackt Thread To End All Gackt Threads
Hot Topic is a really frustrating place. The employees never know what you're talking about if you ask for a Japanese CD they're meant to carry (see gigantic mass confusion over giru's "Music") and none of them seem to be with it enough to know how to use the company's database to order things in to the store for you - so unless you're lucky enough to live in one of the areas targeted by their corporate as "high traffic" for Japanese stuff, you're just flatly S.O.L.
I keep hoping they'll pull their heads out one of these days and institute some better training (and maybe some lessons in manners).

I'm "hoping" that after his Hollywood movie (Bunraku) he'll be more noticed in the US.... maybe...
I'm really looking forward to watching this one!

Re: The Gackt Thread To End All Gackt Threads
I guess the fact that I almost always find some sort of jrock something n my Hot Topic makes us a relative hotspot? It's usually buried behind other stuff completely out of alphabetical order and the manager never even knows they have it until I buy it. Sometimes we even get in random issues of SHOXX, which always baffles me
it's not just with jrock though. Another band I listen to (Julien-K) is an electro-rock band from CA and I happen to be on their street team. They were trying to do a big promotion and see how many people were buying their new album from Hot Topic. I asked the manager at my nearest HT and he checked the computer and told me the nearest store with the album in stock was in Staten Island (I live out in Suffolk County, like 70 miles away). He said that the regional HQ are in charge of distribution and they don't even get to put in requests for specific stuff.
and hopefully Bunraku is great (whenever it comes out.......)
